Just In! Voodoo Lily!
(sauromatus venosum)
The flower head is the first sign of life. It looks like life from another planet but it actually derives from the tropics of Africa and Asia. A member of the Philodendron family, the Voodoo Lily 's stalk stands 3' tall and only 1" wide. As it unfurls, the inside is patterned with a rich violet and yellow color. After the bloom disappears a giant- hand shaped leaf that is 2' across emerges from the bulb on a mottled green and black stem.
It is a very exotic looking plant that will make a great conversation piece in your garden.
Tropicals!
This is the time of year for tropical plants. Lush green plants with bright colored blooms bring out the exotic in every yard and we have just the right plant to brighten your yard!
False Bird of Paradise ( Heliconia Psitacorum) also known as Parrots Beak is a tropical that is very drought tolerant but can endure some soil flooding. It takes full to partial sun.
